I know most of my blogs have been paintball related and I’m trying to be a little more diverse in my posts. This year I’ve had the privilege of working with some worthwhile charities and as we get into the holiday season I’d love to do more. I know financially that just isn’t always possible, but your time can be just as valuable if not more when it comes to charity. My mission this season is to try and make time to work with a charity for a little bit. The only question is which one? There are so many worthwhile charities deserving of donated time from individuals that it’s hard to choose. Last November while out in California on vacation, we went with some family and actually donated time. Sitting here writing this post has made me reflect on those who are less fortunate. While there are those who will sit back and complain that they only got a 16gb iPod but wanted a 32gb. There are those who will be perfectly happy getting some crayons, coloring books and stuffed animal because their parents simply don’t have the means to provide them with all the presents they’d want to and more. So this holiday season, think about taking some time out of your busy schedule and donate to a worthy cause. I know I will be
Do you know of any worthwhile charities and if so what are they? Then take this challenge and make some time to donate this season to any charity. You’d be surprised what even one donated day can do to make someone’s holiday that much more special.
Hi there. I came over from Nanci’ blog and just read her article on your bike purchase for Toys for Tots. It’s so wonderful of you guys to do this and I hope I will be able to help in some way! Good luck. 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by. I think this project is going to be great and I’m definately looking forward to see what the holidays have in store this year. Definately keep an eye out for more info. 🙂
Wifey sent me over and yes I have been here before but this is a topic close to my heart I come from a family who love Christmas and love to help those who are not as lucky as we are to have so much, yes we have more love and closeness then we do have money but that doesn’t stop me from buying gifts and donating them for those who are doing it tough…………
Sounds great Joanne….. no matter what Nanci and I try to donate but sometimes it just isn’t financially possible. We’ve just decided this year that we aren’t going to let the finances get in the way and we’ll make it work. This will a great way for us to Honor her father, a man who really loved the holidays and also helping out those who need help. I’ve got other ideas which I’ll work on after the holidays, but for now I’m focused on trying to make this year the best year possible for the kids. 🙂
